About Michael Diotte:    

Michael Diotte is a registered psychotherapist with the CRPO (College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario) and a certified member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Practitioners (OAMHP) and member in good standing with OSRP and ICISF. 

Michael is also a certified trauma counsellor and completed his Ph.D. in counselling in May 2021.  He is currently enrolled in a Life Coach Certification Program to be completed in May 2024.  Michael’s professional background includes being raised in a family business; graduating from college with a business administration diploma then working several years in business management roles. 

Michael’s counselling experience spans over 25 years with special attention given to individual, family and relationships; along with a focus on emotional, mental and personal issues.  He offers client-centered therapy incorporating a variety of therapeutic approaches, which he has come to term 'Fusion-Therapy'. This focus seeks to highlight the client's strengths and abilities while guiding them towards their desired outcome.  His calm, engaging and personable approach seeks to create a welcoming, safe and positive counselling environment.      

Michael has coined the motto: “Refreshing through Reconciliation” noting that: “When one is reconciled to their dreams and goals, a refreshing comes to their being. This renewed purpose brings significant benefits to one’s overall life and relationships.”    

He works regularly with First Responders as well as WSIB and MVA Motor Vehicle Accident clients.  He worked 3 plus years with the Indigenous Peoples in Northern Ontario functioning as both a Clinical Coordinator and Community Counsellor. 

Michael also provides coaching and mentoring for work, career and school related issues such as: Career Transition & Development; Work-Life Balance; Workplace Bullying, and Leadership-Coaching.     

Additionally, Michael remains an active volunteer in his community.  During his career he has served on a variety of community and professional boards.  In his spare time – he enjoys the outdoors; reading; music; playing musical instruments; working on movie sets and in recording studios; along with hobby farming to name a few.
